The Clara Fritzsche Library Presents:
“Victims, Perpetrators, Rescuers and Survivors: A Multigenre Response to the Holocaust” An exhibit featuring the work of Orange High School seniors sponsored by the College’s Tolerance Resource Center. Under the guidance of social studies teacher Gail Price and Gifted Intervention Specialist Petra Moran, students were asked to complete a multigenre paper after completing a unit on the rise of the Nazis and the Holocaust in Mrs. Price’s justice class. Multigenre research projects give students the opportunity to research and reflect on a topic then share their newfound knowledge through words and pictures.

Focused Literary Studies Inquiry Project
This project utilizes the "new curriculum" as we have come to call it. This will appeal to students who are particularly interested in the literature of an era, geographical area, a theme, genre, or an author. The curriculum states that giving students a choice in a range of literary topics and approaches allows them to follow their passions while:
- increasing their literacy skills through close reading
-enhancing their development of the English Language Arts curricular competencies
-expanding their development as educated global citizens
-developing balance and broadening their understanding of themselves and the world
-developing higher-level thinking and learning skills
We will be culminating the unit with an Inquiry Fair at the end of May.
English 10 Literary Studies C block:
Inquiry Project Checklist
Check that you have the following:
- Inquiry Question: make sure it is clearly visible for your audience!
- Three sources: one academic; one personal (or human, or primary); one popular (website, magazine, newspaper)
- PRODUCT
*Remember there are boards in the classroom and there is coloured paper to cover them in the art room!
- Will you have any type of participation piece for your audience? What will they be doing when they come to see your presentation? Sometimes, students will have something fun for their audience here, like a quiz, or something for them to “takeaway” so that they remember you and your presentation. For example, if you are studying food, have some food for them to try.
- References page: APA format
- Bring your A game! Be on time, organized, polite, ready, and engaged!
