1. Define Key Terms:
ableism, ageism, anthropocentrism, colonialism, consumerism, cultural imperialism, discrimination, diversity, ethics, extremism, feminism, fundamentalism, globalization, hate crime, equity and equality, empowerment, ethics, hegemony, human rights, humanitarianism, marginalization, misogyny, oppression, stewardship, systemic, transformational leadership, dignity and worth, hegemony.
Assignment: You will choose ONE word from the above list and teach it to the class. Research your chosen term. You must provide an accurate definition of the term. From there, you will give examples of how perspective and context can affect the meaning of social justice terms and concepts. Apply what you know about intersectionality.

2. Race Class Gender Ability Environment Gallery Walk
On large butcher block paper, create one page for each heading. Distribute colourful markers. Have students write this down in their binders:

Discuss The Personal is the Political, grass roots versus extreme activism, and Macro to Micro.
3. . What is Social Justice? In groups, attempt to create a definition of the term, "Social Justice." Be prepared to defend and adapt.

Intersectionality 201: (for folks who have taken Gender Studies)
You task is to apply your knowledge of intersectionality and teach this to the class. Please choose a person or a character, historical or contemporary, and analyse their "intersection." What obstacles do they face? What unique contexts apply to them in regards to access to power and/or privilege? What do they gain access to, or are denied? What parts are visible? Invisible? How does the world around them respond? Answer these questions with a brief presentation to the class. This could take the form of a video, an activity, a picture, etc.
